THE MIND OF GOD

Can any man explain God? The answer would have to be, No! Because if a man was able to explain God he would cease to be man and would be God, or God would cease to be God. Not that this has prevented mankind from trying to put God in a catagory that suites the ideas of the person at the time. Throughout history both religious and secular "so called" men of wisdom have given God requirements and abilities that there small minds can dream up.

What one needs to bear in mind is the fact that we humans are only a part of God's vast creation. At the end of Job's trials Jesus, the Second Person of the Godhead, speaks to him. Read what He says in Job 38-41.

For this article we will only quote a few verses:-

"Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb?
When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
And brake up for it my decreed [place], and set bars and doors,
And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; [and] caused the dayspring to know his place;" Job 38:4 - 12.

Can any man say he was there when the earth was made? Does a man's mind comprehend the deepest parts of the universe? This earth that we live on has beauty and wonders that we mortals are continually searching to find the answers to. But it has seldom crossed our minds that the "mind of the ancient of days" not only created us and everything we can and cannot see, but maintains the elements of this world and the whole of the universe so that everything is in perfect order. We have an all powerfull God, but too often men who are in reality a small speck on the surface of this insignificant, little world, try to restrict God to their abilities.

How do we know anything about God?

"But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned."
1 Corinthians 2:10 - 14.

So unless the Holy Spirit reveals God to us, we can know absolutely nothing of God. Where the Holy Spirit is silent or has not revealed something through God's written Word, it would do well for men to be silent also.

To understand God one would have to be equal to God. Can the human race ever be equal to God? NEVER!!! The Word of God clearly sets forth what was, what is, and what will be. The saved of this world will share His throne, but they will still be God's creation and will all come and worship before Him, the majesty of Heaven and Earth, from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another. Isaiah 66:23.

Let each one of us study to show ourselves approved of God, making sure we are right with Him, leaving the things of God that only His mind can understand where they belong, with the mind of God.
