What is the purpose of having church at home when there are churches on almost every corner? If you do not go to church, it probably does not bother you, but for those who are interested in their spiritual life a church is a special place where one can meet with people of like faith to share their thoughts and testimonies, to talk to God and sing His praises.
The problem today is that all mainline churches have given up teaching the Bible truths. The 10 Commandments barely get a mention, and most pastors preach to keep their congregation happy instead of a truth that cuts at the cancer of sin in our lives. What about your children? What do they do at church or youth meetings? Is there any difference between going to those meetings and going to play group or school or the disco down the street? In most cases the sinner that does not know God cannot tell the difference between the so called Christians and the heathens. When the World Council of Churches aims to bring all religions under it's cover so as to say that the religious world is in unity, is nothing short of saying we all worship the same God, only in different ways. This is why families and groups are realizing the God of Heaven does not have anything in common with the heathens. If God doesn't, neither should we. All mainline churches pay homage to the Beast, the Roman Catholic Church, by accepting some of her doctrines and/or worshipping on a day that she instituted at around 321 AD, which cannot be substanciated from the Bible. These churches are teaching a false God and another Jesus, and the only unity they have is unity with the heathens. The Roman Catholic Church is totally against free people worshipping the true God in the way that He tells them to.
That is why those parents who are concerned for the spiritual welfare of their families will not go to a nominal church but will keep the Lord's Sabbath day sacred at home. If you have like minded friends, meet together and study the Bible. Let the Holy Spirit guide you with the weight of evidence from whatever topic you study into. Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." The only way that a Christian can prepare for eternity is to separate from the nominal churches so their influence will not keep them from eternal life. The majority of God's people throughout history held their own church service at home because they were not permitted to question the authority of a priest and worship according to the Word of God.
